save the date: Join us to #WearOrange to demand a future free from gun violence.

In 2026, for the 12th year, we invite everyone to #WearOrange on June 5, 2026, National Gun Violence Awareness Day, and attend events leading up to and throughout Wear Orange weekend, June 6 and 7. Together, we will remember the millions of lives stolen or impacted by gun violence and take action in their honor.

more than awareness

Making a difference starts with small steps—and as we Wear Orange, we recognize we all have the power to act. This year, community members across the United States will be focusing on some of the concrete steps they can take to recommit to a culture of responsibility, safety, and power.

People choose to observe Wear Orange in different ways. For some, it’s a time to strengthen partnerships and build bridges across communities. For others, it’s an opportunity to recommit to responsible gun ownership and securely storing guns in homes and cars. For all of us, it’s about showing up, sharing resources, and simply starting conversations.

Mark your calendars for June 5–7, 2026, to remember to join us for the 12th #WearOrange weekend, and read below to brainstorm how you can support gun violence survivors and others working to end gun violence.

  1. Use your platforms: Turn your company logo, social media avatars, and/or website orange, or add a Wear Orange message to any newsletters, in-store signage, or email signatures. Some partners have also chosen to add a statement to their website like “X Company is a proud supporter of Wear Orange. Learn more at www.wearorange.org.”
  2. Use your space: Light your building orange on the evening of June 6, hang a sign in your window, or offer your storefront, office, or campus as a space for a local event.
  3. Design a product focused on Wear Orange’s mission: Create a product inspired by gun safety and include a statement like “X Company created this product in support of Wear Orange. Find out how you can demand a future free from gun violence at www.wearorange.org.” Just a heads up: please don’t link product sales to any donations. If you’re interested in this type of engagement, our team can work with you on getting it over the finish line.
  4. Partner with local leaders: Collaborate with local Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action groups, other organizations, nonprofits, schools, faith communities, and more to co-host events and amplify community impact.
  5. Sponsor a Wear Orange program or event: Your company can make a direct donation.
  6. Engage your employees: Bring your team together for a lunch and learn, panel discussion, or roundtable conversation about gun violence featuring experts or survivors with lived experience, or encourage staff to wear orange for a company photo to be posted on social media.

If you’re a company, brand, or organization interested in participating in Wear Orange or have questions, please email  partnerships@everytown.org.
